Starlite  The Fifties  Bobs
in L.A.

Come go with me now for a brief and I hope a fun tour of my recollections of Los Angeles in the Fifties.
Looking back it was a fun, free, and somewhat innocent period in history. It was a time for testing youths new found freedoms. Nothing was done maliciously as I can recall, at least not within my group of friends. I cannot say that everything we did was always within the law, but .........

If there is anyone out there that has not experienced the movie, "American Graffiti", I urge you to do so. It is the best representation of the time that I have seen. Although I understand the movie was based on events that took place in Merced California in the 60s, the same events had and were taking place in Los Angeles and no doubt in thousands of other cities all over the country. I know. As a teenager in the Fifties, I lived it!

This site will have a few photos and descriptions of places and events in and around Los Angeles. I will attempt to keep the graphics small. Many of these places and events will not have an accurate date or names but they all took place between the years of 1950 and 1959. If anyone out there recalls these events and can fill in with more accuracy and perhaps photos of the various locations, please E-mail. I will welcome and attempt to add them to this site.

The pages that follow my "L.A. 50s History" will be the music.

Here we go!!!!!
